THE CHALLENGE

Loupedeck is a plug and play console device designed to expertly control photo editing software Adobe Lightroom. After driving a successful crowdfunding campaign for the company, helping to raise €366,361 from backers in 61 countries, this led to the commercial launch of Loupedeck console in the US and UK.

THE SOLUTION

Babel decided to take a two-pronged approach: use the general availability announcement to reignite conversations with relevant media in both the UK and US, and then cement these conversations with the offer of a Loupedeck review. In-depth review coverage would help to showcase the console’s capabilities and whet the appetite of an audience already excited about its premise.

THE OUTCOME

A successful reviews campaign saw in-depth and positive commentary, including an appearance on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show. The console featured in the ‘showstopping tech gifts’ section of a Christmas edition of the TV show, with the presenters trialling the console’s editing capabilities. Following the broadcast, Loupedeck reported a sharp increase in UK sales.

Positive reviews were also featured in tier-one publications including Engadget, CNET, PC Pro, TechRepublic and MacWorld. Influential photographers and vloggers, such as David Papp (167,000 followers) helped to grow the reach of the campaign through in-depth, hands-on video guides posted on dedicated photography and technology YouTube channels.
