THE CHALLENGE

SecureData is Europe’s largest independent cybersecurity consultancy and looks beyond point technologies to address cybersecurity as a whole. The company approached Babel to help it earn the recognition it deserved amongst key stakeholders and audiences in the UK market.

THE SOLUTION

Babel designed a PR campaign focused on thought leadership and issues-jumping to increase brand visibility and reach mainstream media. It was important for SecureData to not be seen as a ‘me-too’ company, with comments being lost in the noise and ‘FUD’ of the industry. Babel recommended that spokespeople take an easy-to-understand stance on security issues, using unique insight and data where possible to hammer home its expertise and credibility within the market.

THE OUTCOME

SecureData has achieved sustained national and trade media presence, consolidating the company’s position as a go-to resource on all things security-related. Experts have been quoted in titles and/or been interviewed by journalists from The Sun, The Telegraph, the Metro, Daily Mail, This Is Money, the BBC, The Economist, the FT and the Mail on Sunday. The culmination of the wider communications programme led to SecureData’s acquisition by telecommunications company Orange in February 2019.
