Intercede set to participate in largest Microsoft partner conference to date in Washington D.C.
Lutterworth, UK, July 9, 2014 – Leading digital identity specialist Intercede today announced that it will be attending the 2014 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (WEWCC) in Washington, D.C. July 13 – 17.
Richard Parris, CEO of Intercede commented: “At WPC, you’ll find many of the leaders and visionaries of the IT industry all coming together to spur innovation and growth to new heights. We’re pleased to be numbered amongst this elite global group and are looking forward to discussing the most pertinent security issues facing the industry, such as identity management and data security, and indeed how we are confronting them as part of this wider partner community.
“One of the biggest security challenges faced by organizations today is verifying the identity of people and devices that attempt to access their networks, data and premises. Passwords simply do not provide high enough levels of security. Recently Intercede launched virtual smart card (VSC) management – a form of authentication that uses a device’s inbuilt secure element – for Windows Phone 8.1, and the issues VSC is addressing and solving will be the primary focus for us – and no doubt one of the key topics of discussion – throughout the entire conference.”
The latest Windows-based devices now support two-factor authentication in the form of a virtual smart card managed by Intercede’s MyID technology, enabling organizations to verify the identity of employees accessing sensitive company information from their Windows Phone 8.1. MyID provides all of the lifecycle management features required to effectively implement large-scale credential roll-outs, including key recovery, certificate renewal and revocation.
WPC is an annual, global convergence of Microsoft’s top partners. Attendees come from over 150 countries and represent many of the most successful, top tier partners in the MPN – whether enterprise or small to medium businesses. Partners come together to network, drive business growth, and identify new profitability opportunities. This year’s WPC will continue to focus on key trends that represent the most profitable models for partners.
