Cybersecurity 2023 - Resilience, reliance and rising threats

Summary

2022 has been another year in which issues relating to cybersecurity have dominated the global news. Enterprises have faced a number of new threats from cyber criminals, nation state actors and insiders, forcing them to constantly reassess and reinforce their defences. In addition to evolving threats, business leaders have been weighing up their security requirements against a backdrop of increasing financial pressures. A recent survey of C-suite level executives by International Data Corporation (IDC) revealed that 59% expect a recession to occur in the next year. Despite their expectations of a recession, more than one third of the survey respondents overall predicted that they will increase their IT budgets during this time.
