Slaughter and May deploys Recommind’s Decisiv Search

LONDON, 16 October, 2012 – Recommind, the leader in predictive information management & analysis software, today announced that Magic Circle law firm Slaughter and May has deployed Recommind’s Decisiv® Search as its knowledge management search solution. Based on Recommind’s CORE® (Context Optimised Relevancy Engine) platform, and unique concept-based search technology, the new solution provides Slaughter and May with a search facility across the firm’s know-how, intranet content and library sources. The solution has been customised so that it can be accessed from within Slaughter and May’s document management system, enabling users to highlight text in Word or Outlook and search directly for relevant know-how. The platform will provide the firm’s 1,250 legal and non-legal staff in London, Brussels, Hong Kong and Beijing with quick access to the information and expertise they need.

“Our lawyers are used to being able to filter and organise their search results easily on the internet, and it should be no different when it comes to searching our internal databases and information repositories. Recommind’s Decisiv Search provides an intuitive and powerful search platform to enable our lawyers to find what they are looking for as quickly as possible,” said Annabelle Vamos, Head of Knowledge & Information at Slaughter and May.

It was important for the search solution to not only enable improved employee efficiency for Slaughter and May, but it was essential that the technology fit seamlessly within the business’s IT portfolio.

“We have been impressed with both the Recommind product and the team’s support, guidance and the speed at which they delivered a working platform. The technology was easy to work with and the project was delivered within budget” said Christopher Martin, Head of Technology at Slaughter and May.

“It is important that law firms consolidate their knowledge resources onto a single platform, as Slaughter and May are demonstrating with the integrated search over their know-how, intranet and library resources. In doing this law firms can improve efficiency and allow staff to quickly and seamlessly search for content. Working with Slaughter and May, we have done just that, creating a simple, easy to use enterprise search platform that can adapt to the changing needs of the business” said Simon Price, Managing Director UK at Recommind.

Slaughter and May is the latest law firm to adopt Recommind’s search technology. Other law firms using Recommind’s technology include Clifford Chance, Eversheds, Macfarlanes, Mills and Reeve and Stephenson Harwood.
