Intercede’s managed MyID service hosted by Regency ITC approved for G-Cloud

Lutterworth, UK, May 28, 2014: Leading digital identity specialist Intercede today announced that its MyID identity and credential management software will be readily available in the latest iteration of G-Cloud, which went live on Friday. This comes after cyber security specialist Regency IT Consulting added MyID to its managed security services portfolio.

G-Cloud is the framework under which SMEs can bid for government contracts, as highlighted at the recent public sector procurement tradeshow in London where Government Minister Francis Maude told an audience that; ‘the G-Cloud programme has been successful at opening up the public sector market to SMEs’ and ‘as of last month the public sector as a whole has already spent more than £175m through G-Cloud, with over half of this (60%) going to small- and medium-sized firms.’

Richard Parris, CEO and founder of Intercede commented: “G-Cloud has helped reduce barriers to entry for smaller businesses selling to the public sector and allowed them to improve their route to market and increase revenue. This can only be good for the economy.

“In the case of the MyID managed service, organisations both in the public and private sectors can gain the benefits of a scalable product that can cater for small teams or manage tens and hundreds of thousands of identities as it already does for our top tier clients worldwide.

“As the number and variety of devices that we use to gain access to networks, services, facilities and information continues to grow, so too will the opportunity for significant security breaches; the key to mitigating these threats is secure identity. You need to know exactly who and what is trying to gain entry to ascertain whether you trust them. Now, thanks to Regency’s G-Cloud managed service offering, the solution is easily available to UK public sector organisations.”

Andrew Beckett, Regency IT Consulting MD, added: “We see person and device authentication as highly important in the quest for ultimate security. MyID is already the solution of choice for many US, European and UK organisations in both the public and private sectors and we believe that it will offer our customers the security and flexibility that they need to remain protected no matter what device they’re using.

“It also represents a significant step in addressing some of the challenges associated with cloud storage.” he added.

Intercede’s Richard Parris concluded: “Partnering with a trusted company like Regency ITC has opened many doors for us. Providing MyID as a managed service on G-Cloud is beneficial for a number of reasons: firstly it enables Intercede to expand its potential market pool by allowing us access to public sector customers; and secondly it gives public sector organisations (large and small alike) the ability to meet their security demands through a wholly managed, scalable and secure service – a ‘win-win’ situation for all involved.”

The service will be delivered by qualified security cleared engineers, operations and support staff from UK government approved secure premises. It has been jointly developed by Intercede and Regency and is delivered and monitored by Regency ITC’s professionally certified security consultants (CESG CLAS, CISSP).
