Infobip reaches new data security milestone
London, UK, 5 November 2014 – Infobip, the global provider of mobile messaging and payments services, today announced it has been credited with the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for data protection. In addition the company has achieved the ISO 9001:2008 standard, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to provide its global customer base with a secure, top-performing messaging and payments platform.
The joint certifications follow Infobip’s investment of €1.8 million in the past six months to ensure it remains at the cutting edge of information security and consistent technical performance. The investment will also help guarantee that Infobip continues to meet stringent data protection requirements as the company upgrades its service portfolio and expands its client-facing, real-time analytics and reporting capabilities.
Infobip’s €1.8 million investment to enhance security was also preceded by an earlier investment of several million euros to upgrade the company’s infrastructure.
ISO 27001 is internationally recognised as one of the leading information security standards, while ISO 9001 is concerned with ensuring a consistently high level of service quality. Now, Infobip has been independently certified as meeting both these data protection and management quality standards.
“These two new certifications are the latest in a long list of security and service quality milestones reached by Infobip in recent months. By achieving these ISO standards we have demonstrated our ongoing commitment to provide a trusted and reliable service,” said Silvio Kutic, CEO at Infobip. “This latest investment will maintain our position at the forefront of information security, ensuring we continue to meet the current, and future, expectations of our customers and partners.”
Infobip is routinely audited and examined against a number of international security standards. In addition to these two ISO certifications, Infobip was recently found to be one of few mobile messaging providers to fully comply with PCI DSS and therefore trusted to handle sensitive cardholder data.
