SANDVINE, MATRIXX, OPENWAVE MOBILITY, AND PEERAPP LAUNCH NFV.NET Vendor Forum is Dedicated to Accelerating Adoption of NFV

WATERLOO, ON, March 2, 2015 – Sandvine, (TSX:SVC) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, alongside MATRIXX Software, a provider of real-time BSS solutions for Digital Service Providers, Openwave Mobility, a provider of the industry’s most scalable SDN/NFV enabled L7 platform, and PeerApp, a leading open content delivery provider, today announced the creation of, a forum of leading technology vendors dedicated to fostering adoption of network functions virtualization (NFV) and promoting best-of-breed implementation practices through an NFV reference implementation in this rapidly emerging field. is an invitation-only alliance of best-of-breed vendors, with only one or two key players representing each key network function. Members are selected both for their technology and thought leadership, as well as full commitment to delivering a real-life, demonstrable, pre-integrated solution with other partners in’s mission is to provide pre-integrated, commercially available NFV solutions to communications service providers (CSPs) of all sizes. Member companies will work hands-on with CSPs to develop, test, and implement virtualization strategies in order to help them navigate the uncertainties that virtualization presents to the telecom industry at this early stage of adoption.

The website will feature a use case library highlighting reference implementations from participant companies and provides a mechanism for some of the industry’s leading technical minds to share their lessons learned about the challenges and opportunities virtualization presents for both operators and vendors.

“This is not about adding a membership logo to the corporate website as a proxy for dedication to NFV. Sandvine is excited about the opportunity that will provide to share our experiences in deploying virtualized solutions with other leading telecom vendors”, said Don Bowman, CTO, Sandvine.

“MATRIXX welcomes the initiative and we look forward to developing end-to-end use cases with Sandvine to allow CSPs to package applications and develop innovative propositions – such as app-based pricing – that can be rolled out quickly as virtualized solutions”, said Vineet Sachdev, VP Product Management, MATRIXX Software.

“We are pleased to expand our long-standing and strong partnership with Sandvine in this important initiative,” said Alan Arolovitch, CTO, PeerApp, “Clearly NFV brings many benefits to operators. This forum should help accelerate adoption generally, and specifically of joint forum-member solutions that optimize networks for quality and cost.”

“Openwave Mobility is excited to be part of and will continue to work closely with all members of the forum to make NFV a reality. We believe that demonstrable use cases will ultimately drive the ROI for NFV. We are already seeing that streaming optimization solutions that reduce congestion and enhance QoE for all data including encrypted video form compelling initial applications for NFV”, said Indranil Chatterjee, SVP Products & Marketing, Openwave Mobility.
