SecureData achieves CREST and CE/CE+ Accreditations
London, UK, 2nd November, 2017 – SecureData, the U.K.’s largest independent cyber security consultancy and provider of Managed Cyber Security Services, has today announced that it has been recognised by independent body CREST as a provider of penetration testing, threat intelligence and incident response services of the highest quality and ethical standards. In addition to this, the company has further been accredited under the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport’s (DCMS) Cyber Essentials (CE) and Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) qualifications.
Cyber Essentials is the modernised framework set out by the DCMS with the aim of securing the entire UK government supply chain by encouraging third party supplier’s working for or with the UK government to adhere to prescribed cyber security standards. Through external verification, it shows that those qualified, such as SecureData, regard cyber security as a business-critical component of the company’s daily operations. SecureData’s newly gained Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation also means that it can now assist other companies to become CE/CE+ qualified so that they, too, are able to demonstrate a commitment to protecting their employee’s, supplier’s and partner’s sensitive data and become a certified member of the government supply chain.
Along with CE/CE+, SecureData has been accredited by independent not-for-profit industry body CREST. The CREST accreditation focuses on SecureData’s security assessment and penetration testing section of the business, SensePost, to ensure that the testing, programming, and White-Hat activities undertaken are of the securest order, whilst complying with ethical hacking guidelines. It also demonstrates SecureData’s commitment to practicing what it preaches when it comes to information security.
“We’ve been in the cyber security business for over 25 years,” says Etienne Greeff, CTO and Co-Founder at SecureData, “These accreditations will enable us to be seen as a far more potent local player in the cyber security world. While our existing customers have always known they are in safe hands, any businesses looking to invest in information security will recognise that our services meet and exceed government-endorsed standards.”
“In the security industry there are existing businesses that have offshoots to address the cyber security needs for their clients. Often these are charged at an extortionate level, and don’t take into account local pain points and challenges, let alone market dynamics,” continues Etienne. “Our local market knowledge and global expertise will show businesses, no matter the size, that we are ready to help them with their information security needs. Given GDPR is just around the corner, cyber security and information security is going to make for an interesting, and highly important activity.”
