Making the most of an English summer with July’s coverage highlights
As COVID restrictions begin to lift, the Babel team has undoubtedly enjoyed getting back to a somewhat ‘normal’ working life. With journalist lunches now resuming and the Babel team finally getting the opportunity to meet our clients again face-to-face, we have certainly enjoyed what this summer has had to offer, and in doing so, have secured some great pieces of coverage along the way.
It is again that time of the month where I get the chance to read through our team’s coverage to pick my top five favourite pieces. And without much further ado, here they are. Enjoy!
This month the news broke that a ransomware attack had targeted the US IT firm Kaseya. Following the announcement, the Babel team quickly secured an interview with BBC World News for Orange Cyberdefense’s Charl van der Walt, global head of security research. He spoke about the attack and the knock-on effect for businesses globally and how this most recent incident truly underscores the risk of supply chains today.
As an expert on EU regulation within financial institutions, Fenergo was ideally placed to provide insight when figures were released showing a hefty surge of fines for Mifid-related sanctions. Following this, Babel worked closely with Fenergo to create bespoke commentary for Bobsguide on the impact this new regulation enforced by Mifid ii will have on financial institutions across the industry.
We also saw a great piece of coverage for client Ciena following a recent briefing secured with CNBC. Steve Alexander, chief technology officer of global network strategy, spoke with reporter Jabari Young about the importance of good network infrastructure in NFL stadiums to ensure a richer, more immersive experiences for spectators. This followed the latest announcement that the Dallas Cowboys had commissioned the instalment of new antennas to their stadium in an effort to improve cellular connectivity and data speeds.
Following the recent research carried out by client Circular Computing aimed at discovering the financial and energy savings for businesses using remanufactured technologies, the Babel team worked closely with Circular Computing to secure commentary in Fintech Global. Armed with these statistics, Steve Haskew, head of sustainable and social leadership provided insight, reiterating the critical need for financial institutions to do more to incorporate sustainability into their business strategies.
Finally, some excellent coverage for our client Vaarst. As a firm that specialises in cloud robotics, Vaarst argues the importance of AI and automation in enabling a shift towards more sustainable practices in offshore wind energy. The Babel team worked closely with Vaarst to draft an exclusive article for ITPro Portal talking about the benefits of AI and how the company’s technologies will help the industry in the future.
And just like that, another great month of coverage all-around. If you would like to hear more about any of the above, or what we can deliver for you, please do get in touch.
