Effortel Powering the Globe Local Italy SIM
Brussels, 4 December 2013 Effortel, the mobile virtual network operator and enabler, announced today that it is powering the Globe Local Italy SIM, a new MVNO service targeting the Filipino community in Italy. Effortel will manage all technical and administrative aspects of Globe’s MVNO.
Globe Mobilé Italy S.r.l., a subsidiary of Philippine operator Globe Telecom, has launched the Globe Local Italy SIM in partnership with Effortel and Italian MVNO Compagnia Italiana Mobile S.r., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Effortel.
The MVNO has been developed to target the rapidly growing Filipino community in Italy and provide Filipinos travelling to the country with a familiar brand for mobile services. The launch of the pre-pay SIM-only service offers customers voice calls, texts, multimedia messaging and mobile data services. The specialist MVNO will cater for the needs of the local Filipino population and serve to expand Globe Telecom’s footprint in the European market.
Effortel was responsible for the design and configuration of the Globe Local Italy SIM service, delivering all of the technical and operational needs of the network. Effortel is also responsible for the day-to-day technical operations and administrative management of the service. Its market leading BSS solution provides unsurpassed efficiency in terms of client service, order management, regulatory compliance and product flexibility. The deployment took just four months from conception to launch and is one of Effortel’s fastest MVNO deployments to date.
This isn’t the first time that Effortel has supported an MVNO venture in the Italian market; as it currently powers Carrefour Uno Mobile and Daily Telecom, an ethnic MVNO dedicated to the Chinese community in Italy, and was instrumental in the launch of Vodafone Egypt’s Italian MVNO Bladna.
