Djibouti Data Center (DDC) is Selected by BICS For Africa Gateway Services

Djibouti City, Djibouti – May 8th, 2013 – The Djibouti Data Center (DDC) has announced today that it has been selected by BICS, a leading global provider of international carrier services, to serve as its location for a gateway hub in East Africa.  BICS will leverage the Djibouti Data Center’s strategic position in East Africa as the major meeting point for undersea fiber optic cable systems connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, to Africa.

“The DDC is located just meters from the new Djibouti Telecom cable landing station, and offers BICS the opportunity for unique collocation facilities, cable head backhaul and cross connect services, and Internet Exchange services in one of the fastest growing regions in the world,” says Anthony Voscarides, CEO of the DDC.  “We are pleased that BICS has joined the DDC to support the tremendous growth potential of the African region.”
