Qt Group to demonstrate seamless UX for smart home and automotive at CES 2023

Brands can design, develop, test and deploy scalable, cross-platform solutions across mobile, desktop and embedded devices

Espoo, Finland – 4th January 2023 —   Qt Group, a leading global provider of software technology, will showcase the breadth of its technology at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Attendees are invited to visit Qt, located at booth W310 in the LVCC West Hall, to experience the smart home and automotive of the future, demonstrating advanced visual effects and unified UX across devices. Visitors can also interact with actual products built with Qt, from brands including LG and Brady Corporation. Other demos will highlight how Qt supports customers across industries throughout their development lifecycle. CES will take place between January 5th – 8th, 2023, in Las Vegas.

Qt’s cross-platform tools and framework can be used by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to enhance the collaboration between designers, developers, and software testing engineers and allow for a faster, easier development lifecycle. At CES, visitors will see how Qt technology empowers companies to develop and implement sophisticated graphical improvements, including real-time 3D visuals across different devices and a range of semiconductor chipsets.

“Leveraging Qt technology enables us to deliver our customers an exceptional user experience that is both familiar and expected,” says Bobby Bishop, Senior Global Product Manager at Brady Corporation. “Brady solutions engage a wide variety of end users in Safety and Facility Identification, Industrial Labels and Automation, and Healthcare; consistent user experiences across our products and their everyday lives become a differentiator for us and enable our customers to get their jobs done efficiently.”

CES attendees can see how Brady Corporation has utilized Qt to design, develop and deploy responsive and functional user interfaces (UI) across multiple models in their line of label printers.

“By choosing an approach that makes use of Qt’s comprehensive framework, brands such as LG and Brady Corporation, benefit from a cost-efficient approach, enhanced visual design, and fast time to market,” commented Juhapekka Niemi, Executive Vice President, Sales at Qt Group. “We are excited to simulate the complexity and heterogeneity of the modern connected home, with multiple devices ranging from low-end to high-end products and appliances, and the seamless UX the Qt technology brings into that.”

Qt Design Studio also enables OEMs to add cinematic transitions, effects, and animations, as well as deploy and test the design with real data.

“In a world where consumers demand fast and dynamic feature improvements, there is pressure on manufacturers to enhance their features quickly, including UI style, usability, and performance,” said Niemi. “Using Qt’s cross-platform framework to develop and deploy products, automotive OEMs, for example, can create a custom look-and-feel across cluster and in-vehicle-infotainment (IVI). The possibility of reusing graphics assets and UI elements across multiple devices and product lines also ensures major time and cost savings.“

At CES, Qt is demonstrating these features with the Outrun, Car Configurator and TomTom Digital Cockpit + Qt Cluster demos. Along with visual benefits from Qt Design Studio, Qt for Android Automotive technology used in the joint demo of TomTom and Qt also provides seamless connectivity across domains by linking data from non-Qt IVI and Android Car API to cluster. Qt will also host demos from Texas Instruments and more.

Qt is used by more than 1.5 million developers in companies across the world including Mercedes-Benz, Bosch, LG, Hyundai and Stellantis. Qt’s scalable approach to development and design empowers them to meet the increasing software market requirements driven by the exponential growth of the IoT market and the stagnant growth of available software developers.
